Distributing Sadaqah before the Money is Actually Received

Question: A man from London wrote to his brother in India to distribute the money he was sending amongst the poor. The brother in India however distributed the money from his personal wealth even before the money arrived from London. Is the Sadaqah valid?

Answer: It will be permissible for the person to distribute the Sadaqah money from his personal wealth and to then keep the incoming money for himself when it arrives from London. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
