Divorce while the Wife is Expecting

Question: I married a woman and after a year and fifty days. I had an argument with her parents. They subsequently forced her to request for a divorce and I issued a divorce on the of September 1961. She was then two months pregnant. What is the situation now with her divorce and Iddah?

Answer: The divorce will be effective even though she was expecting and Her Iddah will expire as soon as she delivers the child She will have to paid whatever balance of the dowry is still owing to he and she is also entitled to Maintenance for the duration of the Iddah
