"You are Divorced! You are Divorced! Go Home!"

Question: A friend of mine divorced iris wife twice saying. "You are Divorced! You are divorced!" He then added. "Go home!". meaning that he really meant the divorce. Can he now take her back without Iddah and remarrying?

Answer: Because he did not intend a third divorce by the words "Go home!". two divorced were intended, making it a Raj'ee divorce. He may therefore take her back in his marriage without formally remarrying her. Remarrying will, however, be necessary if he intends taking her back after the expiry of the lddah. And Allaah knows best what is most correct
