Game Hunting

Q: Prohibitions and Permissions-32: An animal was shot and, after searching for it, it was slaughtered. However, it made no movement when found and only a little blood flowed. Is it permissible to eat this animal? What if the hunter had the intention of slaughtering the animal and even recited Bismillaah when he fired the shot? What if the animal is so small that it is killed with a single shot?

Answer: When an animal is shot, it is necessary for it to be slaughtered before it dies. If it dies before being slaughtered, it will be Haraam regardless of what size the animal is.
