Taking a Loan to Get Married

Question: A boy and girl are of marriageable age, but the father does not have enough money to get his son married. Can he take a loan for this or should he wait until he has enough money?

Answer: If he fears the couple getting involved in sin if the marriage is delayed, he may take a loan to get his son married, but must borrow only that amount of money that is necessary for the marriage to take place according to the Sunnah. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
