Q: 315 ? Title: There are deeds of 100 years of prayers for the one how does I'badah on the night of Shabe Me'raj. Is the hadeeth authentic?

Question

Q)Is the following Hadeeth Saheeh?

Shabe Meraaj - 27th Rajab

There are deeds of 100 years of prayers for the one how does I'badah on the night of Shabe Me'raj.

Whoever prays 12 Raka'at (12 cycles) in this night. In every Raka'at recite Surah Fatihah and any other Surah from Quran.? After every 2 Raka'at recite Tashud and end the salat with Salam. (Means: Recite 12 Raka'at with four Salams, 2 Raka'at at a time)

After that recite this 100 times (After completion of 12 Raka'at's):

"SubHan Allaahi Wal Hamdulillahi Wa Laa ilaah illal Laaho Wallah Hoo Akbar"

"Astagfirullah" 100 times

Durood Sharif 100 times. (Any Durood you know)

And after that make Dua for his/her religious and worldly matters. Fast in the morning. Then ALLAH Ta'ala will accept all of his/her Duas. As long Duas are not made of sins. (Duas for sins will not be accepted)

(Kanzul Umaal, Part: 12; PP: 312-313; Hadis Number: 35170)

(Taken from: Ahyaul Uloomud Deen, Imam Ghazali, 450-505 hijri)

Hadrat Abu Hurairah Radiallah A'nhu stated:"Rasool ALLAH (Sallal Laho Alahi Wasallam) said that whoever fasted on 27th Rajab, they will get the Deeds of 60 months fasts.

Hadrat Aisha Siddiqah Radiallahu A'nha said that Rajab is that great month in which ALLAH Ta'ala increases the blessings of deeds many folds. Whoever fasted once in this month is like they fasted the whole year.

Answer

Assal?mu `alaikum Warahmatull?hi Wabrakatuh,

It is important that a person verifies a narration before quoting it or forwarding it to others.

There are three narrations in your query. All three are unacceptable.

H?fiz Ibn Hajar (Rahimahull?h Ta`?l?) (773-852) compiled a book named Taby?nul `ajab bi m? warada f? shahri Rajab, in which he gathered all the narrations regarding the month of Rajab and explained there as?n?d (chain of narrators). Below are some extracts from his book.

Summary of Arabic

No acceptable narration has been mentioned regarding the virtues of Rajab, or fasting during this month, or standing up in prayer at night. Im?m Ab? Ism?`?l al-Haraw? (Rahimahullah Ta`?l?) has also mentioned this with certainty. However, it is commonly accepted that scholars narrate ah?dith of virtue even though they are weak as long as they are not fabricated.

There is a day and night in the month of Rajab. Whosever stand the night and fasts the day, it will be as if he fasted for a hundred years and stood the night for a hundred years.

(Kanzul `Umm?l by `Al? Muttaq? al-hind? (Rahimahullah Ta`?l?) (975) with reference to Bayhaq? who narrated it on the authority of Sayyidun? Salm?n F?rs? (Radiyall?hu Ta`?l? `anhu) and he (Bayhaq? Rahimahullah Ta`?l?)) said it is munkar.

After quoting the above narration Shaykh `Al? Muttaq? al-hind? (Rahimahullah Ta`?l?) quotes the narration of perform 12 rak`at of sal?h as mentioned in your query. He comments on this narration by saying it is weaker than the one above.

Im?m Ghaz?l? (Rahimahull??Ta`?l?) did not mention references to the narrations he quotes in his book ihy?. Therefore, `All?mah `Abdur Rah?m ibnul Husayn famously known as al`Ir?q? (Rahimahull?h Ta`?l?) (725-806) who was the teacher of Hafiz Ibn Hajar (Rahimahull??Ta`?l?) dedicated a book to mentioning the narrations of Ihy? together with their references. Regarding the narration of salah in your query, he mentions that it is narrated through the chain of Muhammad ibn al-Fadhl who narrated form Ab?n who in turn narrates from Sayyiduna Ibn `Abb?s (Radiyall?hu Ta`?l? `anhu). Thereafter, he comments Muhammad ibn al-Fadhl and Ab?n are both extremely weak and this narration is munkar.

The last narration is quoted from Sayyidatun? `?ishah (Radiyall?hu Ta`?l? `anh?). We found the above narration with the narration of `Abdul `Az?z ibn Sa`id who narrates from his father. This chain of narrators contains `Uthm?n ibn Matar who was considered as a fabricator by Ibn Hibb?n (Rahimahull?h Ta`?l?) scholars are unanimous that he was weak..

Q: 314 ? Title: I want to ask regarding the Mehfil e Meelad conducted here in Madinah Munawwarah every Thursday by SAUDIS. Is it allowed to go to these kind of Majalis?

Question

I want to ask regarding the Mehfil e Meelad conducted here in Madinah Munawwarah every Thursday by SAUDIS. I went to one or two mehfils. They are usually held in farm houses. they begin with Tilawat, Na'at and then an Alim would make a bayan. After that different people read Na'ats. In the end, everyone stands up reading

Ya Nabi Salam Alaika, Ya Habib Salam Alaika, Salawatullah Alaika... They burn the Ood with it and take it around the place.

After that they serve dinner, Rice and Sheep.

Is it allowed to go to these kind of Majalis?

Answer

Assal?mu `alaikum Warahmatull?hi Wabrakatuh,

All?h Ta`?l? sent Nabi (Sallall?hu `alayhi wasallam) with a complete and perfect religion. All?h Ta`?l? says in the Noble Qur?n:

????? ????? ??? ????? ?????? ????? ????? ????? ??? ??????? ????????? )??????? 3(

Today, I have perfected your religion for you, and have completed My blessing upon you, and chosen Islam as Deen (religion and a way of life) for you. [5:3]

The lifestyle of Nabi (Sallall?hu `alayhi wasallam)was a practical example of the Deen of All?h Ta`?l?. All?h Ta`?l? says in the noble Qur?n:

??? ??? ??? ?? ???? ???? ???? ???? ??? ??? ???? ???? ?????? ????? ???? ???? ????? (???????21(

There is indeed a good model for you in the Messenger of Allah - for the one who has hope in Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah profusely. [33:21]

It is for this reason that much emphasis has been placed on following Nabi (Sallall?hu `alayhi wasallam) to such an extent that it has been made the criteria for the love of All?h Ta`?l?.

?? ?? ???? ????? ???? ???????? ?????? ???? ????? ??? ?????? ????? ???? ???? (?? ?????31)

Say (O Prophet): If you really love Allah, then follow me, and Allah shall love you and forgive you your sins. Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very-Merciful. [3:31]

Following Nabi (Sallall?hu `alayhi wasallam) is in fact following the right path. All?h Ta`?l? says:

?????? ????? ?????? ????? ????? ???? ???? ????? ??????? ??????? ????? ?????? (??????? 158)

So, believe in Allah and His Messenger, the Ummiyy (unlettered) prophet, who believes in Allah and in His words, and follow him, so that you may find the right path. [7:158]

This verse is explicit in proving that following Nabi (Sallall?hu `alayhi wasallam) is the way to being rightly guided. Since this is the only way to guidance it stands clear that any offshoot from this path is misguidance.

Sayyidun? J?bir ibn `Abdull?h (Radiyall?h Ta`?l? `anhu) narrates that Nabi (Sallall?hu `alayhi wasallam) used to say in His sermon: Verily the worst of actions are those innovated, and every innovation is deviation.

Sayyidatun? `?ishah (Radiyall?h Ta`?l? `anh?) narrates that Nabi (Sallall?hu `alayhi wasallam) mentioned: Whoever innovates in our matter what is not of it then it is rejected.

The honourable companions of Nabi (Sallall?hu `alayhi wasallam) followed him in every aspect of their lives. Therefore they were made benchmarks of success. All?h Ta`?l? says in the Noble Qur?n:

????????? ??????? ?? ????????? ???????? ?????? ??????? ?????? ??? ???? ???? ????? ??? ???? ??? ???? ???? ????? ??????? ?????? ???? ???? ??? ????? ?????? (?????? 100)

As for the first and foremost of the Emigrants (Muh?jir?n) and the Supporters (Ans?r) and those who followed them in goodness, Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Allah, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, where they will live forever. That is the supreme achievement. [9:100]

Following Nabi (Sallall?hu `alayhi wasallam) was, is and will remain the highway to success whilst anything besides the sunnah is the off ramp to deviation.

It is indeed a great privilege to live in the blessed land of Mad?nah Munawwarah, but that? privilege is accompanied by added responsibilities. Being the neighbours of Nabi (Sallall?hu `alayhi wasallam) demands that one be more sensitive to the sunnah of Nabi (Sallall?hu `alayhi wasallam). Extra importance should be given to adhering to even the finest of sunnats. Similarly, to the reverse, any innovation by the people of Mad?nah Munawwarah is to be more condemned.

Every stone, street, alley and gully of Madinah Munawwarah ought to be reminding one of the sah?bas (Radiyall?h ta`?l? `anhum) firm adherence to the sunnah. The incidents of the galaxy of sah?bah (Radiyall?h ta`?l? `anhum) should be flashing through one?s mind at every turn one takes. These were those who?s love for Nabi (Salallahu `alayhi wasallam) had excelled beyond the mountain peak. They expressed their love for Nabi (Salallahu `alayhi wasallam) by imitating him in the minutest of actions.

It is extremely sad and disturbing to learn of innovations taking place in the honourable city of Mad?nah Munawwarah. One would have expected that the honourable neighbours of the beloved Messenger (Salallahu `alayhi wasallam) would have adhered firmly to the sunnah and to pure Isl?mic teachings. They would have been more sensitive to the issue of sunnah and bid`ah. The sunnah is a light by means of which a person may find direction in the darkness of all the evils and fitnahs that the world is engulfed in. The true neighbours of Nabi (Salallahu `alayhi wasallam) are those who adhere to his sunnah even though they are thousands of miles away from him. Distant are those who innovate according to their fancies even though they might be right next to Nabi (Salallahu `alayhi wasallam).

There is no command or example in the life of Ras?lull?h (Salallahu `alayhi wasallam) or his Sah?bah (Radiyall?hu Ta`?l? `anhum) having gatherings as stated in the query.

Where did Ya Nabi Sal?m `alayka Ya Hab?b Sal?m `alayka originate from? Why does everyone have to stand for the dur?d? During sal?h dur?d is in the sitting position. Why burn `?d? Why leave the well established narration of dur?d for such baseless practises?!

The illustrious sah?bah (radiyall?h Ta`?l? `ahum) enquired from Nabi (Salallahu `alayhi wasallam): how should we send dur?d upon You?

A third narration mentions:

????? ?? ??? ???? ???? ?? ???? ??? ???? ??? ?? ??????? ??? ???? ???? ????? ???? ??? ???? ???? ?? ???? ??? ????? ??? ?? ??????? ??? ???? ????

There are many books compilations which mention the different forms of dur?d. All?m?h Sakh?w? (Rahimahull?h Ta`?l?) has compiled a book called al-Qawlul Badi?. This is detailed work on the virtues and forms of dur?d. Shaykhul Had?th Hadrat Mawl?n? Muhammad Zakariyyah (Rahimahullah Ta`?l?) compiled a book, commonly known as the forty dur?d, which contain the different dur?ds mentioned in the ahad?th. Taking to such dur?d as mentioned in the ah?d?th are undoubtedly much more meritorious than thousands of any other un-established form of dur?d.

One of the main objectives of such gathering is to inculcate and express our love for Nabi (?allall?hu `alayhi wasallam). We advise that you set out some time daily to send salutations on Nabi (?allall?hu `alayhi wasallam). Even if it may be a little in quantity but it should be read with punctuality and with a great feeling of love for our beloved Messenger (?allall?hu `alayhi wasallam). Also take out time to educate yourself and your family about the history of Nabi (?allall?hu `alayhi wasallam). Read the sacrifices he went through for the cause of Isl?m. Study his sham?il, conduct and behaviour. Insh? All?h this will prove more beneficial in inculcating the love of Nabi (?allall?hu `alayhi wasallam). Firm adherence to even the finest of sunnah is the best way to show our love to Nabi (?allall?hu `alayhi wasallam). Try to spend as much as time possible in the honourable Masjid and also visit the blessed grave as much as possible. If possible kindly convey our sal?m too.

Q: 312 ? Title: Please advise about a person who says I am a Muslim just because I was born to Muslim parents. He does not pray or fast at all.

Question

Assalam-o-Alaikum

Please advise about a person who says I am a Muslim just because I was born to Muslim parents. He does not pray or fast at all. He is married for last 17 years with two children. His wife was concerned about his believes and her relationship between them if it is valid or not, and asked him so many times to repent and start praying but he says I am a Muslim and I believe in Allah but never ask me to pray or fast again.

Q1, Can we call this man Muslim and in the circle of Islam?

Q2, What should his wife do? Should she continue living with him? She has fear that if she ask him again he will leave her and her children.

Kindly advise is detail.

Jazakallah Khair Wassalam

Answer

Assal?mu `alaikum Warahmatull?hi Wabrakatuh,

The person in reference is a muslim. He himself says he is a Muslim and believes in Allah. His nikah to his wife is still intact. The husband is sinful for not fulfilling his obligation in shariah. If the husband gets offended with the wife advising him to practice on shariah and that will cause further marital disputes.

She should look for the right time and opportunity to get across to her husband to the best of her ability. She should make dua to Allah to give tawfeeq to her husband to practice on the shariah.

Question

I understand that there is a hadith that says eating haraam means ibaadat will not be accepted for 40 days - although from reading your previous fatwa, i understand that the ibaadat is accepted but the noor and barkat will be accepted. Does this mean that there is no reward for it?

Also, is doing something haraam (i.e. zina, masturbation) the same as eating haraam? In the sense that, if someone masturbates/commits zina (alhumdullillah i have stopped) then are his duas not accepted for 40 days, as such with when one eats haraam?

May Allah s.w.t grant your academy nourishment and make it a means of spreading hidayat throughout the four corners of the world. Ameen

Answer

Assal?mu `alaikum Warahmatull?hi Wabrakatuh,

It maybe easier for you to understand your query with an example of the human body. In order for the body to be healthy and active, it must have a balanced diet. If one has cold in the body, the body reacts negatively through sneezing, running nose, pains and aches. Such a body requires heat to maintain a balance and good health.

If the person having cold in his body continues the intake of cold items, for example ice etc., his health will deteriorate, in spite of him having some healthy foods. Similarly, if one does good deeds that generates the n?r of Im?n in him, if he continues with such good deeds and many more good deeds, he will clearly receive the n?r of Im?n and closeness to Allah. Taking one vitamin tablet is not enough for one to be active and healthy. It is only after a few doses of such tablets that one feels the difference.

While doing some good deeds, if a person also commits sins, he washes away the effect of the good deeds. The N?r and light of the good deeds are contaminated with the evil and are suppressed.

What happens if one eats healthy foods and on top of that takes a poisonous tablet?

Nevertheless, good deeds are not in vain, never!

Allah Ta?ala says,

...??????? ??????? ??? ??????? ?????? ??????????????

...Verily, Allah does not destroy the rewards of those who do good.

(Qur?n 11:115)

You can see the effect of your good deeds which are covered and suppressed with the darkness of sins.

Just as one needs to detoxify from poison and toxic in the body to see the effect of good and healthy foods, so too a sinful person needs to detocify from sinful acts to see the hidden effects of his salah, tilawah and charity.

The N?r of these acts just need to surface. The detoxification of sins is through Taubah and Istighf?r. Repent for ones sins and make firm intention never to commit the poison of sinful acts. It is then one will see the n?r of ones good deeds and feel the halawat (sweetness) of Iman.

And Allah Ta'?la Knows Best,
