In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Obedience to the commands of Allah takes one closer to Allah. Whatever Allah has ordained should be practiced and whatever has been prohibited should be abstained from. One would achieve this by adhering to the noble Sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wassalam). Together with fulfilling the Faraaid (acts of compulsion), one should also practice upon the Nawaafil (optional acts). These Nawaafil play a significant role in taking one closer to Almighty Allah. Recitation of the Quraan e Kareem is also an important tool in gaining the proximity and closeness of Allah.

Rasulullah (SAW ) said ?There is nothing more effective in getting you closer to Allah than that which has emanated from Allah-the Quraan?.
