Making Du'aa Audibly after the Fardh Salaah

Q: Salaah-35: lmaams in many areas make the du'aa very loudly after salaah, causing a disturbance to those completing their salaah. This causes them to err in their salaah. Is this allowed in the Shari'ah?

Answer: It is best to make du'aa silently. There is also no harm in making du'aa slowly and in a soft tone so that people may learn the du'aas and say Aameen to them. This must however be done in a manner that does nor disturb the people still performing salaah. It is not permissible to make the du'aa so loudly that people are led to making mistakes in their recitation. The Imaam will then be sinful. as will those people who force him to do so. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
