Q:17 ? Title: Is this saying of Shayk Qaradawi correct regarding the acceptance of sifaat;

Question: Is this saying of Shayk Qaradawi correct regarding the acceptance of sifaat;

After study and research which lasted for years, I realised that the most relied upon opinion as being the opinion of the salaf is the tafwid of the meaning (i.e. to leave the knowledge of the meaning to Allah) and not the ithbat of the meaning ( i.e. to take the literal meaning), and that this opinion is the opinion of the majority of the salaf."

Answer: In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh

It is correct to say that the opinion of salaf the on Mutashabihat is that they made tafweed of the meaning to Allah Ta?ala and did not take the literal meaning. The meaning of making Tafweed to Allah Ta?ala is to accept the apparent words, and leave the explanation to Allah Ta?ala. The texts in your previous question, taken out from the books of Moulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri, also proved the same point.

And Allah knows best
