1) If a person recites a verse of sajda, it would be compulsory for him to prostrate (make sajda) even though he may be out of salat. It is also desirable for one to prostrate out of salat upon receiving any bounty of Allah Ta'ala or any evil been removed. However, it is ideal that the person recites 2 rak'ats of salatul shukr instead of only making sajda of shukr.

2) Bowing down to Allah Ta'ala is an act of worship. All acts of worship are tawqeefi i.e. the method in which it should be carried out is stipulated by the Sharia. Bowing in methods as the knight's etc. bow has not been proven in the Sharia.? Furthermore, by bowing in such manners one would also be imitating the disbelievers, which is prohibited in Islam.
