The Warning Against Passing in Front of a Musalli

Q: Salaah-235: Will salaah be nullified is a person passes in front of a Musalli? Will it be necessary to repeat the salaah?

Answer: The salaah will not be nullified and there will be no need to repeat it. The act will, of course, distract the Musalli and disrupt his concentration, because of which the person passing will be sinful. In fact, the Hadith describes such a person as a Shaytaan. Hadhrat Abu Sa'eed Khudri RADI. reports that Rasulullaah SAW. said, "When any of you is performing salaah facing something that shields you from the people and someone intends purring in front of you, you stop the person (by extending your arm in front of the person). If he refuses to heed, you may even hit him (admonishingly and not to injure him) because he is certainly a shaytaan.
