Making the Second Salaam before the Imaam

Q: Salaah-251: During the Eid salaah, the Imaam made the first Salaam before the people, but because he delayed in making the second Salaam, the people made it before him. thinking that he had already made it. Is their salaah valid?

Answer: Although the people did wrong in the stated case, their salaah will be valid and will not have to be repeated. This ruling has incorrectly been stated in Tadhkiratur Rasheed, but correctly stated in Tadhkiratul Khaleel (see page 207). And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
