Where is the salaah to be Performed when there is no Eid Gah?

Q: Salaah-289: While there is no Eid Gah at a particular place, should the Eid salaah performed in a field or in the Masjid?

Answer: When a town or village is large and the Ulema have permitted the performing of Jumu'ah and Eid salaahs there, ii is necessary to have an Eid Gah prepared outside the town. Amongst the reasons for people gathering for the Eid salaah. Shah Wali'ullaah Muhaddith Dehlawi RAH. has stated that just like all nations. the Muslims also require a day in which to make their numbers and strength apparent. It is for this reason that it has beer declared a Sunnah for all the Muslims to gather for the Eid salaah. It was the practice of Rasulullaah SAW. to proceed for the Eid salaah using one road and then return using another so that the people on either road can see the strength of the Muslim numbers.

An Eid Gah should therefore be prepared as soon as possible. While the Eid Gah is not prepared, find a place on the outskirts of the town where all the Muslims are able to congregate and amass immense rewards. Inshaa Allaah, those in the forefront of the effort will earn the most rewards. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
