The Jumu'ah salaah in a Factory

Q: Salaah-686: Because the Jaami Masjid a distance away, the employees of a factory wish to perform their Jumu'ah salaah in a hall in the factory. is this permissible? Someone has stated that it is necessary for the Jumu'ah salaah to be performed in a Masjid. Please favour us with an explanation.

Answer: A Masjid is not a precondition for the Jumu'ah salaah to be valid. The salaah will be valid in a house, hall or field either inside or on the outskirts of a town on condition that the public is allowed access to perform salaah without exception. However, the rewards of performing salaah in a Masjid will be lost. And Allaah knows best what is most correct.
