Q: 346 ? Title: Why is it Haraam to say "Ya Muhammad"?

Question

Why saying YA Muhammad is consider Shirk or Haram? Some scholars say that saying YA Muhammad is shirk or haram because of the prefix ?Ya?? means present since the prophet is not present everywhere that?s why it is considered Haram?
But According to Arabic Grammar prefix YA? can be used for both near and far person (Jaamin Durood Arabin vol.2 pg.106). Then Why it is said so?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-sal?mu ?alaykum wa-rahmatull?hi wa-barak?tuh.

In principle, if one says ?Ya Rasool al-Allah or ?Ya Muhammed? with the belief that Rasullullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) hears every sound, sees every action, etc, then it is impermissible and constitutes Shirk (polytheism).

If one believes that the words ?Ya Rasullullah? or ?Ya Muhammed? are being sent to Rasullullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) via the angels in the form of Durood and Salaam, then it is permissible for one to say such words.

However, if one utters such wordings out of extreme love for Rasullullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) without the incorrect belief that Rasullullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) listens to every word, sees us, etc, then it is merely Mubah (permissible) for one to utter such words.

Nevertheless, since many people have the incorrect belief that Rasullullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) is Hadhir and Nadhir (omnipresent), knower of the unseen or that Rasullullah (Sallalalhu Alayhi Wa Sallam) listens to one who pronounces the words ?Ya Muhammed? or ?Ya Rasullullah?, it is highly advisable that one refrains from uttering such words.[1]

The reference that you have quoted is unclear. In all probability, you are referring to ?Jami al-Duroos al-Arabiyyah?.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-sal?mu ?alaykum wa-rahmatull?hi wa-barak?tuh.

The original scriptures/books of the previous Anbiyaa are Qadeem (pre-eternal) since they are the Kalaam (divine speech) of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta?ala). All The Sifaat (divine attributes) of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta?ala) including his Kalaam (divine speech) are Qadeem (pre-eternal) and Azali (pre-eternal).[1]

Can I pray for a non- muslim girl for guidance? PDF Print E-mail

Q: 343 ? Title: Can I pray for a non- muslim girl for guidance?

Question

Can you please let me know if we can pray for a non- Muslim girl who believes one God for guidance and also to make her pious.

Can we pray to Allah for making a non- Muslim to be guided with pious qualities and also to marry her.

Can we beg with Allah for the guidance with crying.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-sal?mu `alaykumwa-rahmatull?hi wa-barak?tuh.

In principle, it is permissible for one to pray for the guidance (Hidayat) of non- muslims.

It is not permissible for one to seek forgiveness on behalf of non- Muslims.[1]

Praying for a non- Muslim girl will fall under the purview of the aforementioned principle provided that it does not entail the violation of the dictates of Shariah in all forms.

If there is a fear of Fitnah by engaging in making Du?aa for the girl, then it should be left out totally.

Every deed has an underlying motive and cause by which a person is motivated.

The underlying and hidden motives behind the case in reference is questionable.

We should always check the underlying motives behind any deed. What is the underlying motive for doing such an act? Is it promoted by Nafsaaniyyat or is it promoted by the Love and Pleasure of Allah (Ta?ala)

Why would a person choose to pray for a non- Muslim girl from the many billions of non- Muslims out there in the World.

The Awliyaa e Kiraam (Pious friends of Allah) have stated that ?Shaytaan comes to deceive a person in ninety nine garbs of righteousness?

Shaytaan has manipulated the Nafs (lower carnal self) to engage in Haraam thoughts and casting lustful glances at the non- Muslim girl through the ploy of praying for her.

Shaytaan very cleverly sugar coats evil and Haraam through good deeds. One should be very cautious and alert in this regard. Always be aware of the deceptive ploys and plots of Shaytaan.

You may have had a sincere intention at the beginning, but the plan of Shaytaan is to slowly ensnare and entrap you in the clutches of Nafsaaniyyat and Haraam.

We advise one to immediately clear one?s mind of the non- Muslim girl and focus one?s attention to the source and creator of all love, which is Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta?ala).

We also advise one to attend the discourses of the Ahlullah (friends of Allah) so that the love of Allah (Ta?ala) is created within one?s heart.

And Allah knows best.

Q: 344 ? Title: Does the following words constitute Shirk?

Question

Aww. does it constitute shirk if someone says my son will become my

'sahaara' support in old age...she did not mean shirk , just that Allah make

him pious and a waseela of help,? may he be of support and help in her old

age. hear from you soon. wslm

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-sal?mu ?alaykum wa-rahmatull?hi wa-barak?tuh.

Sister in Islam,

The word ?Sahara? is an Urdu word meaning ?support/help?. It is not a specific name or attribute of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta?ala), therefore, the statement ?My son will become my Sahara? does not constitute Shirk.

The statement in reference is merely a Du?aa that the son assists the mother in her old age. That does not constitute Shirk as long as the mother believes that Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta?ala) is the real supporter and helper.

Q: 342 ? Title: 1. Should muslims visit the graves? 2. Should we request others to make dua for us? 3. How many times should we do raf-ul-yadain (raising the hands) in Salah?

Question

Should muslims go to graves and go to people seeking for duas and forgiveness like the way people do in Pakistan and India? Also, how many times should we do the raf-ul-yadain during our prayer?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-sal?mu ?alaykum wa-rahmatull?hi wa-barak?tuh.

Your question consists of three parts?

1. Should muslims visit the graves?

2. Should we request others to make dua for us?

3. How many times should we do raf-ul-yadain (raising the hands) in Salah?

Each one will be answered accordingly.

1. It is permissible to visit the graves with the following conditions:[1]

a.) One should visit the grave with the intention of remembering death.

b.) One should not commit any type of Bid??h at the grave.

c.) There should be no intermingling of genders at the grave.

d.) One should not mourn loudly, cry or lose control of his/her emotions at the grave.

2. It is encouraged from the Ahadith that one may request others to make duaa for him.[2]

3. According to the Hanafi Madhab (school of thought), Raf-ul-yadain (raising the hands) is performed only in the beginning of the Salah during Takbeer-e-Tahrimah and in the third rakah of Witr Sal?h before reciting Qunoot.[3]
